You’ll also learn the basics of leadership and tips for taking your business to the next level.

If your customers are on the Internet, then you should be too. This course will show you where to start. It is ideal for business owners and people new to marketing who want to learn the basics of Internet marketing.

In this course, you will learn how to market online, where your target market is, and what results you are getting. You will also learn about search engine optimization, e-mail campaigns, pay per click advertising, and more.

Basic Office Skills

This will be a Zoom class only: Mondays & Wednesdays; 5:00-8:30pm & Saturdays 9:00-3:00pm

The Office Skills training program offers an opportunity for unprepared and under-prepared adults to obtain entry-level skills necessary for a position as a clerical associate in an office setting.  This complete course includes basic office skills, such as: office machines/phone general overview, computer application skills, such as: spreadsheet, data entry, filing, business document basics, and keyboarding.  In addition, students will receive assistance in producing a resume for print and posting on the HireNet system.

Generic Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities of a clerical associate include serving as a receptionist, data entry, using fax and photocopying machines, filing, business correspondence and filing, and maintaining accounts. Other pertinent skills are typing and a reliable working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Outcomes
At the end of the class, the student will receive a Certificate of Professional Development, a Typing Certificate, suitable as an attachment to their resume with 1 printed copy of their resume, a posted version uploaded to HireNet, and a digital copy

Curriculum
Basic Office Skills

Students will gain a general knowledge of office equipment, including copy and fax machines as well as using in-depth techniques in organizational file management.

Business Writing

This segment will focus on using the Gregg Manual to learn basic grammar rules for business writing.  Also, during this time students will refine, produce, and publish their resume.

Keyboarding Skills

The provided online software covers basic operational procedures of keyboarding with the goal of attaining the minimum speed necessary for basic entry level employment.  Students will use the software provided to work at home and in the classroom (arrangements can be made for a study location if the student does not have access to a computer).

Office Computer Skills

This segment focuses on using computers and software in the office setting.  Classes will develop students’ computer technology proficiency.  Practical hands-on training includes how to use basic Microsoft Windows’ techniques, create electronic spreadsheets and word processing documents.
