Language and Communication

Beginning Filipino

This course teaches the basic level Filipino that is tailored to everyday life. Participants will learn the basic but foundational Filipino language structures.

Learner Outcomes

Students will be able to:

Greet others and introduce themselves and family members in Filipino;

Express routines using numbers, days of the week, and time-related vocabulary;

Use common adjectives to describe likes and dislikes;

Compare people, objects, and places using comparative and superlative forms;

Identify and describe locations using basic prepositions and location markers;

Ask for and give simple directions in Filipino using imperative forms and spatial terms.
